RVAC RMU Switchgear Technology

  Eaton’s recently launched RVAC Eaton SF6 Ring Main Unit (RMU) with advanced safety and ergonomically designed features for Medium Voltage Secondary Distribution network. The RVAC RMU is smart grid ready and provides a compact design and enhanced personal safety and immensely improves ease of operation and user experience.

  Given its long service life, compact size and recycling, Eaton RVAC ring main unit is great in terms of both economy and ecology. Based on the design concept of full insulation and fully sealed, all primary parts within RVAC RMU are fully sealed inside the stainless-steel main enclosure to protect against condensation and external contaminated environment; the protection degree of the main tank body is upto IP67, equipped with Eaton’s Cooper waterproof touchable cable bond, which can provide effective protection against accidental flood in rainy climate. Eaton’s RVAC RMU has a complete range of functions to cover almost all network configuration requirements. It is compact, yet flexible and can take upto 4 functions in one tank, with extensibility on both sides. It is full-fledged set of accessories needed for an easy product evolution to maximize the flexibility and meet all on-site works purposes like extension with additional panels, maintenance, enhanced features, etc. With rapid infrastructure modernization in India and moving from over-head to underground distribution, the RVAC RMU is even more relevant to provide protection and segment isolation to ground cabled distribution network.

Arc Fault Detection Device

  With the growth in electrical power distribution infrastructure and the need to modernize existing equipment, it is indispensable to ensure power and electrical operations are safe and secure for everyone – protecting light and resources against electrical accidents and mishaps. 
The Eaton AFDD+ incorporates the next generation of detection technology and provides enhanced fire protection. The Eaton AFDD+ not only detects arc faults, but also incorporates leakage current, short-circuit and overload protection, to provide all-in-one protection for new-build or retrofit applications.

  The EATON AFDD+ uses digital technology with embedded processing and smart evaluation of current signals, to provide sensitive detection of fault currents, combined with avoidance of nuisance tripping, by digitally monitoring the wire for specific frequencies that can indicate an arc fault. The indicators of the EATON AFDD+ display the status and detailed fault information when the AFDD+ trips due to a fault. This makes fault-finding easier and saves time.

  With all these functions combined in one device, one can specify and provide high-level protection and ensure peace of mind for operators and businesses.
