UGE bagged two rooftop solar projects in Maine

UGE International Ltd., a commercial and community solar energy solutions announced the signing of an agreement with two schools in Maine to develop, build and finance rooftop solar projects that will provide the schools with clean and affordable energy. The two projects are expected to have a rated peak capacity of 1.0MW and 0.7MW. Collectively, the projects add US$2.4 million to the Company’s project backlog.

Nick Blitterswyk, CEO, UGE said: “Maine represents a new and growing market for UGE, one that offers the opportunity through its recent virtual net metering regulations, facilitating community solar projects. We have already begun the design and submitted for utility interconnection approval, and we anticipate completing the development and installation of the projects over the next 12 months.”

UGE having built approximately 50 plus school projects till date, across the US, Canada, and the Philippines. Solar provides an excellent opportunity for schools to leverage their flat empty rooftops to host solar systems and lower their operating expenditures while using them as an educational tool as well.
