Renew has been featured in the Fortune Change the World list 2025 for its water conservation efforts in Rajasthan – this represents the third recognition and second consecutive listing. Previous features highlighted the company’s role in accelerating India’s energy transition (2021) and powering millions of homes while promoting women’s participation in clean energy (2024).
With 40% of India’s population projected to face drinking water scarcity by 2030, ReNew is taking proactive steps. In Jaisalmer, one of the country’s most water-stressed regions and home to its wind farms, it has revived traditional rainwater harvesting methods like the taanka, providing reliable water access to nearly 16,000 villagers. This has improved quality of life and enabled more children— especially girls— to attend school.
Renew aims to be water positive by 2030, with action plans underway across its portfolio. Over the past three years, the company has saved nearly 1 billion kilolitres of water. Its approach strengthens water stewardship through third-party assessments, watershed-based planning, and supply chain integration.
