
Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NUPPL), a joint venture company between NLC India Limited (51%) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) (49%), has successfully completed the ‘TG Rolling & Synchronisation’ milestone of Unit-2 (660 MW) of its 1,980 MW Ghatampur Thermal Power Project with the 765 kV grid, at 00:05 Hrs on July 20, 2025 in a single go – and well ahead of the lead time required against the schedule after Steam Blowing milestone completion.
This successful synchronisation marks a crucial step forward in NUPPL’s journey toward the Commercial Operation Declaration (COD). The achievement underlines NUPPL’s commitment to deliver 31.68 million units of electricity as reliable and sustainable power generation for the nation.
Commenting on this achievement, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLC India Limited, and Chairman of NUPPL, said, “The focused and dedicated efforts of NUPPL, NLCIL and UPRVUNL with the support of everyone from the Ministry of Coal, GoI, Board and contracting partners has made this achievement possible.”
