GE Vernova Inc., has signed an agreement with Enertrag to provide seven 6MW-164m (6 MW turbine with a 164-metre rotor) turbines produced at its factory in Salzbergen, Germany. The deal was booked in the second quarter of 2025. The workhorse turbines will be installed at the Bonacker wind farm in Nordrhein-Westfalen in western Germany. It’s the second new order in Germany that the company has announced at the Husum Wind Fair, following an order for Prokon made public recently.
Commenting on the order, Gilan Sabatier, Chief Commercial Officer for GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business in International Markets, said, “We are pleased to have the opportunity to once again support Enertrag as they work to bring online more wind power in support of their efforts to advance the energy transition. The latest project builds on our long-standing relationship and reflects the value they see in our workhorse product strategy. Drawing on our industrial footprint in Salzbergen, we are well positioned to execute that strategy as we work to meet Enertrag’s needs and those of other customers in Germany.”

GE Vernova’s Wind segment has a strong manufacturing presence in Germany with a 70,000 square metre facility in Salzbergen that manufactures machine heads, drive trains and hubs for the workhorse turbines it provides to customers in Germany and elsewhere in Europe and Asia.
