Vikram Solar has commissioned a rooftop solar project on its manufacturing facility in Falta, Kolkata. This rooftop plant is of 987.2 kW capacity – and consists of 2584 solar panels, covering an area of 6500 sq. meter.
The plant consists of 2584 solar panels ranging from 325Wp – 400Wp. The panels used are Vikram Solar’s SOMERA Monocrystalline & Half-Cut & full cell that will generate an annual yield of 1409.58 MWh. To store the energy generated from the plant they have installed 14 Solar grid connected inverters from Sungrow, Huawei & Solis.
This is a unique project of its type – as it uses 12 different types of modules and a mix of half-cut & full-cut cells in the modules manufactured by Vikram Solar. Constructing the project with the difference in module size was the main challenge faced – and due to which the module mounting structures had to be adjusted as per requirement for each row and the module to module looping as there were mixing of half-cut and full-cut module.
Commenting on the development, Saibaba Vutukuri, CEO, Vikram Solar, said, “We at Vikram Solar are in constant efforts to bring out innovation and modification in everything we do and thus lead by the example and this project proves the phrase “Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk”. This project not only caters to the captive energy requirement of the manufacturing unit but also contributes towards making it a green energy unit.”
