HORIBA India Private Limited, a HORIBA Group company, has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Pristine Deeptech Private Limited, a company engaged in a wide range of research and development related to the utilisation of Lab Grown Diamond as a material in the Semiconductor and Quantum research fields, effective January 14, 2026, thereby making Pristine Deeptech a wholly owned subsidiary.
Diamond is gaining attention as an advanced material with excellent thermal conductivity and dielectric strength, and is expected to play an important role in a broad range of applications, including next-generation power semiconductors and quantum sensors. Through this acquisition, HORIBA will build on Pristine Deeptech’s diamond-related expertise to better capture development and manufacturing needs for advanced materials, and plans to establish an R&D hub in India to develop new products and deliver analytical and measurement solutions.
Diamond is an advanced material with outstanding properties, including high thermal conductivity and high dielectric strength. It is expected to contribute to improved device performance and energy savings across a wide range of fields, including next-generation power semiconductors, quantum sensors, 5G/6G communications, electric vehicles, data centres, and the aerospace and defence sectors. Against this backdrop, the utilisation of Lab Grown Diamond as a material is expected to expand significantly over the next decade.
The HORIBA Group places strong emphasis on long-term, proactive investment in R&D. Since the 1990s, HORIBA has built R&D structures worldwide, including in France, the United States, and the United Kingdom, while continuing to address local customer needs. In this context, HORIBA has positioned India as one of the potential future global hubs for innovation.
