As vehicle use continues to increase, many countries around the world are focusing on ways to decrease pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on oil. Promoting less polluting non-oil based propulsion systems is an effective way to address these issues. Of all emerging the road transportation technologies that use fuels other than carbon based fuels, Plugin Electric Vehicles (PEV) are the ones closest to mainstream.
