Eni has successfully generated First Industrial Electricity from the 120 MW Gas Power Plant (GPP), a key component of the 247 MW Mangystau Hybrid Power Plant Project developed in partnership with KazMunayGas and Eni’s subsidiary Plenitude in the Mangystau Region of Kazakhstan.
This milestone marks another major step in the development of Kazakhstan’s first large-scale hybrid power plant, integrating solar, gas and future wind generation to ensure decarbonized and reliable electricity supply to KazMunayGas subsidiaries in the region. The project represents an innovative approach to supporting the country’s energy needs while contributing to the diversification and modernization of its energy system.
From the beginning of construction work to the First Electricity generated at the GPP, more than 2 million man-hours were worked without a Lost Time Injury, demonstrating strong project execution, commitment to safety and close coordination among all Local Stakeholders. The achievement reflects the ability to advance complex energy infrastructure within optimal timeframes while maintaining the highest safety standards.
