ENPHASE, SALCOMP PARTNERSHIP EMERGES AS INDIA’S LARGEST SOLAR INVERTER MANUFACTURER

Enphase Energy, Inc., a global energy management technology company and the world’s leading supplier of microinverter-based solar-plus-storage systems, has recently showcased its India manufacturing unit, set up in partnership with Salcomp–a world-leading company in high precision manufacturing. The Enphase-Salcomp unit has emerged as India’s largest solar inverter manufacturer with an annual capacity of more than 6 million units. Based at Salcomp SEZ in Sriperumbudur near Chennai, it produces the Enphase IQ Microinverters, which are currently being exported, thus making the unit one of the largest solar equipment exporters in India by the number of units.

The Enphase IQ microinverters are some of the most advanced solar inverters in the market that enhance solar energy output while making the entire solar energy system more reliable, efficient, and safer. Every microinverter is powered by semiconductor integration, predictive control, and a technically configurable architecture. And each microinverter undergoes rigorous functional and reliability testing. The one-of-a-kind, high-tech automation manufacturing unit is certified with ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001.

Speaking about Enphase Energy’s India focus, Sunil Thamaran, VP and MD at Enphase Energy India, said, “Enphase sees incredible growth potential in India and has partnered with Salcomp to provide an impetus both domestically and export-wise for India. We have exported millions of microinverters to North America, Europe, and Asia from this plant. Besides that, about 60% of Enphase Energy’s global workforce is in India.”
