
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL or POWECRID), a ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ONGC to collaborate on Green Hydrogen and clean energy projects.
This will combine their strengths to explore new business opportunities and support India’s energy transition. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel) POWERGRID and Arunangshu Sarkar, Director (Strategy and Corporate Affairs) ONGC and other senior officials from both the organizations.
The Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India is one of the largest transmission utilities in the world. As on 30th November 2024, POWERGRID has commissioned and is operating 280 Sub-stations, more than 1,78,975 ckm transmission lines and 5,45,961 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of the latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, the company has been able to maintain an average transmission system availability of more than 99.80%.
