Maria Pope, President and CEO of Portland General Electric (PGE) has started functioning as the Chair of EPRI’s Board of Directors. EPRI is the world’s preeminent independent,
non-profit energy research and development organization, with offices around the world. Pope joined PGE in 2009 as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. She went on to oversee the company’s power generation facilities, wholesale power marketing and long-term resource strategy as Senior Vice President of Power Supply, Operations and Resource Strategy. She has served on EPRI’s board since 2019.

Commenting on her appointment, Pope said, “As the energy industry works toward a clean energy future where safe, affordable, and reliable power is accessible to all, EPRI is a trusted leader in research and innovation. I am proud to serve as EPRI’s Board Chair as we tackle the most pressing issues, opportunities, and challenges facing the energy industry during this period of rapid transformation.”
