SmartEn; the European business association integrating the consumer-driven solutions of the clean energy transition – that aims to create opportunities for every company, building and car to support an increasingly renewable energy system; has appointed Michael Villa as of the 1st of January 2021 as the new Executive Director of the association, taking over this role from Frauke Thies, who has embraced a new professional opportunity outside of smartEn.
Michael Villa is the former Head of Policy at smartEn. Under his leadership and with the support of the association’s membership and partners, smartEn continues to be committed to pushing for a decarbonised, decentralised and digitalised energy system with the active energy user at its heart.
The association creates a cross-sectoral single voice for innovative market players driving digital, decentralised and decarbonised energy solutions, whereby every European benefits from playing an active role in the clean energy transition.
