NTPC Ltd has been conferred the ‘Role Model’ Award at the most coveted and highly esteemed 11th CII National HR Excellence Award ceremony 2020-21. Recently, in a virtual conference, CII National Committee Chairman on Leadership and HR, Sanjay Behl presented the award to NTPC, along with Indrani Kar, Head of CII’s Suresh Neotia Centre of Excellence for Leadership. On NTPC’s end, the award was received by D K Patel, Director (HR).
The HR Excellence Assessment Model is based on the CII-Exim Bank Excellence Award encompassing all aspects of Human Resource Management. The model can be effectively used as a framework to position HR initiatives, measure current status, and identify gaps to provide solutions in the areas of Leadership, HR Strategy, Learning & Development, People Well Being, HR processes and practices, Perception and Performance metrics.
Through this model, CII aims to help improve HR performance practices and capabilities by providing objective feedback for improvement – while also facilitating communication and sharing of the best practices and information within and among organizations.
This award is the highest level of recognition in the field of Human Resources by Confederation of Indian Industry. Since the institutionalization of CII National HR Excellence Award, this is the only the second time when the award of Role Model has been conferred to any organization. Further, this award has been to any organization given after a period of 10 years. Importantly, NTPC is the only PSU to have received this prestigious award.
