
Tata Motors, India’s leading automobile company, has won a contract with the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) to produce 65 EVs (60 Tigor EVs and 5 Nexon EVs). As part of KSEB’s vision to become ‘Go Green/Carbon Neutral’ by 2030, this order is part of a competitive pan-India tender.
A handover ceremony was organized today at Kanakakkkunu Palace, Trivandrum, in the presence of Sri. K. Krishnankutty – Hon’ble Minister of Electricity, Adv. Antony Raju – Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Dr. B. Ashok IAS – Chairman, KSEB and other Senior Government Officials.
Tata Motors has a market share of 85% (YTD FY22) and more than 15,000 Tata EVs on the road, proactively driving the adoption of electric mobility in India. By working with other Tata Group companies including Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Auto Components, Tata Motors Finance and Croma, Tata Motors is helping to accelerate the adoption of EVs in India through its EV ecosystem dubbed “Tata uniEVerse”.
The Tigor EV is undoubtedly India’s safest electric sedan, with its 4 star G-NCAP rating. Incorporating three core product pillars: Technology, Comfort, and Safety, it offers a supreme powertrain, infotainment, and connected systems, setting new standards for all. The Nexon EV delivers a long-range drive (ARCA-certified range of 312 km) on a single charge with no emissions. Powered by a powerful and highly efficient 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor, it is equipped with a high capacity 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. IP67-certified dust and waterproof battery pack makes the EV the best in its class. In addition, it provides 35 Mobile Apps based connected features, from remote controls, vehicle tracking, to driving behavior analytics, navigation, and remote diagnostics.
