At the Biennial General Meeting of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on September 29 and 30, WANO member delegates voted to appoint TEPCO President, Tomoaki Kobayakawa, as the next President of WANO.
To date, TEPCO has shared the lessons it learned from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station accident and the knowledge it has gained through the implementation of safety measures, and this knowledge has been leveraged by operators and power stations throughout the world.
Furthermore, TEPCO has endeavoured to improve the safety and reliability of its nuclear power stations to achieve the 2030 Action for Excellence objectives put forth by WANO.
