Gavin McCollam has assumed the role of Senior VP & CEO of Basin Electric effective from Dec. 1, 2022. McCollam earned an associate’s degree from Bismarck (North Dakota) State College, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from North Dakota State University, and a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He is also a registered professional engineer.
Employed with Basin Electric since 1989, he has also worked at Basin Electric’s subsidiary Dakota Gasification Company. McCollam was involved in many projects over the years, including serving as Project Manager for Deer Creek Station, Basin Electric’s first combined-cycle generating facility. His most recent role was Basin Electric’s VP of Engineering and Construction.
Expressing his feeling, McCollam said, “I am fortunate to have worked with outstanding individuals at Basin Electric in support of its membership and I am very excited to take on this new role.”
