Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a joint venture of public sector undertakings promoted by the Ministry of Power, has appointed Vishal Kapoor as its Chief Executive officer. Kapoor possesses a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE). He also obtained a Master’s degree from National University of Singapore and went through the Advanced Management Program in Public Policy at the Indian School of Business.
Kapoor has a notable contribution in formulation of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme for Operational and Financial turnaround of distribution utilities. He served the India Railways in various capacities including design, operations and maintenance of Rolling Stock of Indian Railways.
He was in the forefront of introduction of the high-capacity car carrying freight cars in India and export of more than a dozen locomotives to Tanzania and Myanmar.
