Surya has evolved from a trusted lighting brand into a broader electrical and consumer solutions player. How do you define Surya’s identity today?

Surya today is transitioning from being a product-led organisation to a purpose-led enabler. While steel & lighting remains our legacy, our identity is now defined by what we enable—energy-efficient living, resilient infrastructure, and sustainable progress. In a global environment marked by volatility and an increasing focus on sustainability, we see ourselves playing a larger role in enabling responsible growth for customers, industries, and communities.

How important is portfolio diversification in strengthening long-term brand relevance?

Diversification is critical to staying relevant in a rapidly evolving market. It not only strengthens business resilience but also allows us to deliver integrated solutions across sectors. More importantly, it aligns with our larger narrative—moving beyond standalone products to enabling end-to-end solutions that support infrastructure development, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability outcomes.

What is your Unique Sales Proposition (USP)?

Our USP lies in trust which comes from our backward-integrated manufacturing, strong distribution network, and consistent product reliability built over 50+ years. However, going forward, what differentiates Surya is our ability to combine scale with responsibility—through sustainable manufacturing practices, resource efficiency, and solutions that help customers meet their own ESG and energy-efficiency goals.

Surya exports to 50+ countries. How do you manage your after-sales service?

Our presence in 50+ countries is supported by strong regional partnerships and standardized service frameworks. We ensure consistent after-sales support through local distributors, responsive service systems, and strict quality benchmarks. The focus is not just on service delivery but on building long-term trust and reliability across markets.

How are you contributing to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission?

Surya’s contribution to ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ is anchored in its strong domestic manufacturing footprint and backward integration. With five manufacturing facilities across India, we continue to invest in local production, supply chain resilience, and skill development. This strengthens India’s manufacturing ecosystem while reducing import dependence and supporting the ‘Make in India’ vision. Additionally, through the continuous expansion of our export markets and product portfolio, we are contributing to strengthening India’s economic growth and enhancing its position in the global supply chain.

How is Surya integrating sustainability into both product development and manufacturing operations?

Sustainability is central to our future narrative. We are embedding it across the value chain—from designing energy-efficient products to improving resource efficiency in manufacturing. Our focus is on responsible production, reducing environmental impact, and driving operational excellence. Additionally, we are positioning ourselves as an ESG enabler—helping customers achieve their sustainability goals through our solutions.

As consumer expectations evolve from affordability alone to design, aesthetics, and smart functionality, how is Surya adapting its product roadmap?
