Covering Wind Energy Potential At International Wind Congress 2022

New solutions for wind farm construction, ways of prolonging the life cycle of turbines, technologies to reach 2030 goals, and international partnerships in the wind energy sector were covered at the International Wind Congress on 6-7, November, 2022 in Berlin, Germany. The Congress welcomed developers and operators, oil and gas companies, EPCs, electricity TSOs, and others to unleash wind energy potential together.

The International Wind Congress 2022 was opened by the plenary session dedicated to challenges of recent projects regarding wind farms. The delegates from Energinet, Maple Power, Equinor, and Siemens Gamesa discussed a journey to net zero emission, transition to renewables, and energy islands.

After the sessions that covered the life cycle of turbines and its improvement, European EPCs and developers shared their experience about wind farms construction on the panel discussion. Brian Boye from Semco maritime talked about how to ensure communication needs from Construction to O&M. Also, a senior communications manager at ABO Wind, Dr. Daniel Duben, emphasized the importance of transparent communication for onshore wind projects. In addition, participants could scan a QR-code for getting access to the top issues dedicated to wind power energy and related topics.

The first day of the International Wind Congress was closed by the Gala Dinner where the participants continued communication with other companies with soft jazz playing in the background to make networking less official but still productive.

The second day, mostly filled by panels, welcomed their participants by a discussion about expectations and plans regarding offshore wind by 2030:   PGE company shared advantages of the Baltic Sea; Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Estonia showed strategic perspectives of the offshore wind industry in the country; and National Grid Ventures highlighted integration of offshore wind and interconnection in the North Sea. Moreover, the delegates had personal b2b meetings with other companies during the Congress.

In addition, the agenda of that day included the session dedicated to digital optimization of wind farms. Among the topics were AI and ML, big data, drones and robots, and XR technologies (VR, MR, AR).

The next edition of the International Wind Congress is going to take place on 6-7, November, 2023 in the same place. Be ready to lead the wind energy sector with key players next year!
